
AFD and WHH Partner to Empower Communities in Borana Zone.
Action For Development (AFD) and Welthungerhilfe (WHH) have signed a new agreement to empower agro-pastoralist families in the Borana Zone. The project, titled “Strengthening Innovative Approaches to Strengthen the Resilience of Agro-pastoralist Livelihoods in East Africa,” has a total budget of €292,136.30. Over the next 26 months, the team will work in the Dillo, Dirre, Miyo, and Moyale districts to empower local communities build a more secure future.
The main goal of this work is to improve resilience for 7,628 people. Beyond just providing basic support, the project focuses on giving people a stronger voice in local governance and improving their legal and economic opportunities. By using new and creative methods, AFD and WHH aim to ensure the community have the tools they need to make ends meet and take a more active role in their community’s growth.
