Clean Water Flows for 20,000 People in Debub Ari Zone
Action For Development (AFD) and Norwegian Church Aid (NCA) have inaugurated the new Mendir/Chelegod/Genamer water scheme, enabling clean water access to nearly 20,000 residents. For years, families in this area struggled with severe water shortages, but this initiative changes everything. The project includes a 17-kilometer pipeline and a 70,000-liter reservoir that supplies 23 different water points located right within the community.
By bringing water to the community, this project does more than just provide a resource; it changes daily life. Women and children no longer have to carry the heavy burden of walking long distances, keeping them safe and healthy. Now that the hard work of collecting water is finally ease, everyone in the community has a better chance to thrive.
